After finishing my university undergraduate degree, I decided it'd be a good idea to diversify from Unity into other game engines. Especially with the drama surrounding Unity whilst I was still in university with their proposed fee per game installation which was eventually reversed due to the backlash from the game dev community along with other changes.

Space Battle Godot Version

So, after hearing this all going on whilst I was still in university, I decided on learning Godot... at some point. The issue was that I was deep in my final year work so I didn't really have the time to go off and start learning a new game engine, so I kind of forgot about it until after I completed my degree.

I needed something easy to create in Godot and that's when it hit me! I could try and roughly recreate my PyGame, Space Battle, that I made in my A-levels to get an initial feel for how Godot works. I found that it was much quicker to make stuff in Godot than in PyGame. My Godot version of Space Battle was done in around 3 days, and although it was rougher around the edges and was missing a few features when compared to the original, it still did the job in showing me how to code in Godot.
